Cross Country Coach Plans Run Across Nebraska

Travelers crossing the state of Nebraska this summer may encounter a bit more than cornfields and cow pastures. College of Saint Mary Cross Country Coach Derek Fey is embarking on a marathon run that will span the Cornhusker state as a fundraiser for his team.

“I’m starting out in Henry on the Wyoming border on June 22 and will cross the finish line at city hall in downtown Omaha on July 1,” Fey said.

The total run is 10 days, 471 miles, averaging about 48 miles per day. Fey is seeking donations and pledges along the way to help fund competition travel and special events.
