Award-Winning Author Wanda M. Morris to Speak at College of Saint Mary’s Great Conversations
OMAHA, Neb. – Award-winning author Wanda M. Morris is the featured speaker for College of Saint Mary’s Great Conversations Book Club Author Series on Friday, April 5, at Happy Hollow Club, 1701 S. 105th St., Omaha. A book signing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.; a luncheon begins at noon.
Morris, author of “All Her Little Secrets,” will discuss her new gripping, suspenseful novel, “Anywhere You Run,” where, after the murder of a white man in Jim Crow Mississippi, two Black sisters run away to different parts of the country – but can they escape the secrets they escape the secrets they left behind? Two sisters on the run – one from the law, the other from social shame. What they don’t realize is that there’s a man hot on their trail, who has a disturbing motive for finding the sisters that is unknown to everyone but him.
“Anywhere You Run” was named one of the Top Ten Crime Fiction Books for 2022 by The New York Times. It was also selected as one of the Best Books of 2022 by NPR, Publishers Weekly, Amazon, and Library Journal. It has been named one of “Fifteen Standout Historical Fiction Books to Read This Year” by Oprah Daily and received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Library Journal Kirkus Reviews, and Booklist.
Great Conversations began in 2004 when Kathy Simon, a former CSM board member, donor and book lover, suggested the idea. Simon selects the featured author each year.
