Blair High School Student Receives $80,000 Scholarship to College of Saint Mary

College of Saint Mary (CSM) is proud to announce that Elisabeth White of Blair, Nebraska, has been selected as a Marie Curie Scholar starting this fall at CSM. A surprise scholarship check presentation of $80,000 honored Elisabeth on Wednesday, May 6 at Blair High School. Elisabeth is the daughter of Joel and Cathy White. She plans to major in biology at CSM. Elisabeth’s awards and honors while attending Blair High School include:

  • 2014 Miss Washington County Fair Rodeo Queen Consecutive Honor Roll (2011-2015)
  • State FFA Degree (2015)
  • Chapter FFA Degree (2014)
  • Greenhand FFA Degree (2012)

College of Saint Mary’s prestigious Marie Curie Scholars Program, funded in part by the National Science Foundation, provides significant financial support and resources for academically talented young women who study science or math. Marie Curie Scholars may receive up to $20,000 annually for four years in gift aid – and participants also receive free tutoring, have opportunities for undergraduate research, may participate in National Institute of Health and NASA research fellowships, and attend and present at national conferences.
