67 Students Graduated from College of Saint Mary During 2015 Winter Commencement
Omaha Neb. –
College of Saint Mary would like to congratulate its December graduating class of 67 students receiving bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. On Saturday, December 19, College of Saint Mary (CSM) celebrated its Winter Commencement with Baccalaureate Mass beginning at 5 p.m. followed by Final Commencement in the Lied Fitness Center. College of Saint Mary Alumna Kristen Case, executive director for the Literacy Center delivered a commencement address that focused on failure, fear and power.
Case told the graduating class and guests to hold on to the knowledge that success often starts with failure; that fear causes people to avoid potential failures; and that the power to lead by doing is within everyone. She challenged the graduating class to fail spectacularly, use fear to fuel themselves forward, and to lead from where they are at the moment.
Two awards were presented during commencement: Emily Davidson, Master of Arts in Teaching Student of the Year; and Laura Niehaus, Master of Science in Organizational Leadership Student of the Year. In addition to those graduating with bachelors and masters, two students, Debbie Chambers and Tammie Long graduated with doctorates in education.
