Three new programs announced in time for Fall 2017 classes
Degrees in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, and Health Sciences will join the roster of programs available for College of Saint Mary students starting Fall 2017.
The Master of Science in Health Sciences is designed for students who want to advance their studies or further their careers.
“This 18-24 month program is well-suited for students interested in medicine, laboratory science, pharmacy, veterinary science or dentistry,” says Dr. Jeff Keyte, academic dean for the division of arts, sciences and professional studies.
The Kinesiology and Exercise Science program offers both a bachelor’s and master’s degree.
“We anticipate that many of our student athletes will be interested in this program,” says Dr. William Mangan, vice president for academic affairs.
Kinesiology and exercise science will also be attractive to all students interested in human performance, wellness, fitness, recovery, therapy and ergonomics, as well as other fields that involve human motion.
The bachelor’s degree will prepare students for careers in wellness, physical training and human performance.
The 18-24 month Master of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science is designed for students who are considering a career change, or are ready to advance their career.
“These programs provide a solid foundation in biomechanics, exercise physiology and nutrition with a strong emphasis on research,” says Mangan. “Also, when combined with rehabilitative studies coursework, this degree will be exceptional preparation for those heading to physical therapy school.”
