CSM to exhibit exclusive artwork from Frogman's Print Workshops
OMAHA, NEB. – Frogman’s Print Workshops will showcase a collection of print-focused art this spring at College of Saint Mary’s Hillmer Art Gallery. The exhibition, which will highlight engravings, etchings, lithographs, mezzotints, relief prints, screen-prints, and mixed print media from more than 20 top artists, opens Monday, March 5, with a special reception scheduled for Thursday, March 8, from 5 - 7:30 p.m.
“All of the work in this exhibition is by nationally and internationally recognized professional artists that are also print educators,” said Jeremy Menard, Frogman’s Print Workshop’s owner and director. “All of them have participated in Frogman’s Print Workshops as students, assistants, faculty, and/or visiting artists.”
One of the most highly regarded and influential printmaking workshops in the world, Frogman’s will showcase select works from its collection. The exhibit, which will be curated by Menard, will include exclusive pieces by acclaimed professional artists and print instructors.
“We hope that viewers will be inspired; that they will have a stronger connection to the visual arts, and an interest in future exhibitions,” said Menard. “We also hope that they will have a greater appreciation and knowledge of fine art printmaking.”
With a mission to inspire printmaking appreciation, forward print knowledge, and strengthen the print community, Frogman’s has used art workshops to encourage individuals for nearly four decades. The group hosts courses, lectures, exhibitions, open portfolio sessions, and a variety of social activities to highlight the best contemporary, hand-pulled, fine art prints by emerging and established artists.
The exhibit will run from March 5 through April 27. It is free and open to the public.
