CSM plans Welcome Days for Aug. 20-28
OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary will welcome new and returning students to campus Aug. 20-28 for several days of fun activities and info sessions designed to help them succeed academically and socially throughout their college experience. “I’m just as excited as the students to experience Welcome Days,” said Marisa Mathews, director of student leadership and inclusive programming. “The campus is buzzing with excitement and anticipation, it’s a great way for new and returning students to start off the year.”
Welcome Days will feature a mix of sand volleyball, bubble soccer, casino night, a community resource fair, grocery bingo, Glow in the Dark Night and a hypnotist show. A Fall Fest picnic will return for a second year on the plaza and will include a performance by Omaha Street Percussion, Kona Ice, electronic basketball, jousting and other carnival-type games and food. “Welcome Days is a time for our students to connect and begin their CSM journey by growing a sense of belonging within our community, which is a unique strength within the culture of CSM,” said Kris Czerwiec, assistant dean of student life.
Students will begin moving on campus Aug. 20. Classes begin Aug. 24. For more information, visit CSM.edu/WelcomeDays.
