College of Saint Mary President Appointed to CINCF Board of Directors

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary President Heather Smith, MBA, RN, FACHE, was among the appointment of new members to the Council of Independent Nebraska Colleges Foundation (CINCF) Board of Directors. President Smith will serve a two-year term from 2024-26.

“This appointment is a profound honor,” President Smith said. “I am excited to contribute to the advancement of higher education and support the exceptional work being done by these institutions.”

Other new appointees include Nichole Andersen (Nebraska Methodist College), Kelsi Anderson, PhD (president, Bryan College of Health Sciences), Yamileth Bazan, PhD (president, Union Adventist University), Susan Christopherson, PhD (Omaha Public Schools), Rebecca Deterding (YMCA of Greater Omaha), Jeffrey Feldhaus (Creighton University), and Michael Weston (State Farm Companies).

CINCF Board officers are Chair Darrin Good, PhD (president, Nebraska Wesleyan University), Vice Chair Randy Koski, CPA (founder, Koski Professional Group), Secretary Jody Horner (president, Midland University), and Treasurer Steve Ritzman (president, SR Consulting).

“We are very pleased to have these talented individuals guiding Nebraska’s independent college foundation,” CINCF’s Executive Director Treva Haugaard said in a news release. “Their experience and business expertise will further enhance the educational opportunities available for students attending Nebraska’s private higher education institutions.”

The CINC Foundation’s 13 member colleges and universities include Bellevue University, Bryan College of Health Sciences, Clarkson College, College of Saint Mary, Concordia University, Creighton University, Doane University, Hastings College, Midland University, Nebraska Methodist College, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Union Adventist University, and York University.
