College of Saint Mary Lands ALL Seven Athletic Programs on the NAIA Scholar-Teams List
College of Saint Mary is proud to announce that ALL seven of its athletic programs made this year’s National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Scholar-Teams List. CSM’s basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and volleyball teams achieved a 3.0 team GPA or better during the 2013-14 academic year.
CSM's swimming team posted an athletic department high of a 3.72 GPA. The Flames' volleyball team received a 3.38 GPA, which narrowly edged out the cross country team’s 3.36 GPA. The soccer team followed closely behind with a 3.33 GPA. The final three include the golf team with a 3.23 GPA, softball team with a 3.22 GPA and the basketball team with a 3.09 GPA.
Among the scholar teams, basketball had the highest ranking finish in completion play, claiming the 2013-14 Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) regular and post-season titles. They also qualified for the NAIA Division II National Basketball Tournament. The cross country program won the 2013 MCAC Cross Country title in the fall and made an NAIA National Tournament appearance. The swimming team sent seven individuals to the NAIA National Meet, finishing 14th overall.
Every CSM athletic program qualified for either a conference or national tournament this season. The Flames also had 15 NAIA Individual Scholar-Athletes this season:

College of Saint Mary’s eight athletic teams including basketball, cross country, golf, swimming, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball, are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Midland Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC). College of Saint Mary, founded in Omaha in 1923, is the region's only Catholic college for women.
