Welcome Days
The Student Leadership Office and Student Orientation Staff host Welcome Days annually—our BIG kickoff to the new academic year! This year's events begin on Saturday, Aug. 17, and end on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Below is a schedule of the fun things going on throughout Welcome Days!
Saturday, Aug. 17
- 9 a.m. to noon, Hixson-Lied Commons: Welcome Days Check-in. All incoming students will check in with the Student Orientation Staff to begin their new journey at CSM. Be sure to attend to get some amazing FREE swag!
- 9 a.m. to noon, Hixson-Lied Commons and Lozier Hall: New Student Resident Hall Check-in. Students will check in, begin moving into the residence halls, and have a chance to start decorating their rooms.
- 5-6 p.m., Dining Hall: New Student Community Dinner. Join the CSM community for a free community dinner as we welcome new students and their families. Meals for students and guests are free!
- 6-7 p.m., Warde Conference Center: New Student Residence Hall Meeting. Join the RAs and professional staff to learn more about life on campus.
- 7 p.m., Warde Conference Center: New Student Mixer. Join Student Orientation Staff and the RAs for mocktails and a fun night of games to get to know each other.
Sunday, Aug. 18
- 10-11:30 a.m., CSM Plaza: Outdoor Fun. Join the Student Orientation Staff and enjoy the summer weather to plant your own plant and build your own stuffed animal.
- 6-7 p.m., Gross Auditorium: Karaoke. Join us for karaoke and belt out your favorite tunes!
- 8-11 p.m., west side of Mercy Hall: Glow in the Dark Rave. Join Student Orientation Staff for a fun night of dancing, music and a FREE glow-in-the-dark shirt!
Monday, Aug. 19
- 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Gross Auditorium: Mandatory New Student Orientation. Learn tips and tricks about CSM that will aid in your success as a student. Lunch and free swag provided!
- 8-10 p.m., Warde Conference Center: Casino Night. Join Student Senate for the annual Casino Night that includes games, popcorn and prizes!
Tuesday, Aug. 20
- 9:30-10:30 a.m., CSM Plaza Roundabout: Waffle Truck. Come enjoy a FREE waffle from The Modern Waffle food truck!
- 1-4 p.m., Lied Fitness Center Pool: Dive-In Movie. Bring your bathing suit and enjoy a pool party and a projected movie screening of "Finding Nemo" in the pool!
- 6-8 p.m., Warde Conference Center: Music Bingo. Music bingo is a fun and exciting take on the classic game of bingo. With songs replacing the numbers on a bingo card, jam out to snippets of some of your favorite songs and win some fun prizes.
- 8-9:30 p.m., Warde Conference Center: Grocery Bingo. Campus Activities Board hosts their annual Grocery Bingo! Come play bingo and win some free groceries!
Wednesday, Aug. 21
- 8-10 a.m., Hixson-Lied Commons: CSM Kickoff Palooza. Kick off the first day of classes with a free Krispy Kreme Donuts, back-to-school photo booth, and stuff your own free pencil bag!
- 10-11 a.m., Hixson-Lied Commons: Fall Involvement Fair. Get involved with a student organization! Stop by the involvement fair and browse our amazing student opportunities and sign up for a student organization.
- 5-7 p.m., Center of Campus Green Space: Fall Fest Picnic. Enjoy dinner, games, raffle prizes and FREE Kona Ice! Omaha Street Percussion will be performing. Activities include a strolling magician, balloon artist, face painting, Skee ball, inflatable pedestal jousting, ping pong, and more!! Bring your kids, family and friends!
Thursday, Aug. 22
- 4-5 p.m., Lied Fitness Center Gym: Fall Pep Rally. Join us for a fun Fall kick-off at College of Saint Mary! There will be minute-to-win-it games, fun, free T-shirts, and a photo booth.
Friday, Aug. 23
- 7 a.m. to until supplies last, Christina's Place: Caffeine Boost. Kick off your Friday with a FREE* drink from Christina's Place! *First 50 students to order get a free drink
Saturday, Aug. 24
- Noon-1 p.m., Aksarben Village: Movie Matinee. Join Student Orientation Staff in walking over to the Aksarben Cinema for a free movie!
Sunday, Aug. 25
- 10 a.m., Aksarben Village: Farmers Market. Join Student Orientation Staff in walking over to the Aksarben Farmers Market.
