Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry
Modern Instrumentation, Experiential Learning, 100% Placement
At College of Saint Mary, you can dive into chemistry, connect through hands-on learning, and develop lifelong problem-solving skills to carry into high-demand careers after graduation. Our innovative chemistry curriculum empowers students with critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills to take on complex problems.
Chemistry majors have access to interactive lab equipment and the most common instrumentation to examine qualitative and quantitative data – all the while studying the societal and ethical aspects of modern science. Just as important as discovering solutions to important problems, you will learn to effectively communicate the results of your experiments in writing and presentations. The result: 100% of our chemistry majors are employed in the field or pursuing a graduate degree within six months of graduating.
College of Saint Mary applauds young women who excel in science and math. This is why we offer the Marie Curie Scholars Program, a prestigious program that provides significant financial support and resources for academically talented young women interested in biology, chemistry or mathematics. You could receive up to $20,000 annually for four years!
Students Engage in Meaningful Research
Evelyn, is a chemistry major and a forensic science minor, found her passion in research.
Evelyn has gained experience working in a lab doing pharmaceutical research for cancer at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The research has heightened her interest in chemistry.
“That’s something I want to do for the rest of my life,” Evelyn said, adding that she hopes to work in a lab following graduation and eventually seek her PhD.
